But Chauhans were defeated in the 1450 by Mohammed Khan Qaimkhani and conquered Jhunjhunu. Samas Khan, the son of Mohammed Khan also founded a small village called as Samaspur and hence a Talab was constructed there by giving it a name Samas Talab. The fist Nawab of Jhunjhunu was Mohammed Khan and last Nawab was Rohilla Khan. This place was ruled by Nawab for almost 280 years. This town is situated in the Shekhawati region.
