Situated in Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan, Ranthambore or Ranthambore National Park is home to the tiger. It is about 369 km from New Delhi and 160 km southeast of Jaipur. It was established as the Project Tiger reserves by the Government of India in 1973 and gained the status of a National Park in 1980. Ranthambore is well connected via air, rail and roadways.
