Places to Visit in Tirupati
Tirupati, renowned for Sri Venkateshwara Temple is located in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. Every year lacs of devotees come to Tirupati to visit Sri Venkateshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple rests on the top of Tirumala hills at a distance of 20 kms from the main city. Other tourist attractions in Tirupati include Govindaraja Swami Temple, Silathoranam, ISKCON Temple, Swami Pushkarini Lake, TTD Gardens, Akasha Ganga Theertham and many more. Things to do in Tirupati Tirumala Temple The Tirumala Temple gets lacs of visitors each year. The temple is atop the hill Tirumala, about half an hour’s drive away from Tirupati. Kapila Theertham The temple sits at the base of a waterfall, next to the entrace to a cave. This Shiva temple worships Lord Shiva’s manifestation as Kapileshwara. Silathoranam This natural rock formation is a series of small boulders that seem to hang from the sky. The smaller boulders connect two large rock formations, making the view breathtaking. Talakona Waterfall Talakona Waterfall is a high falling waterfall just outside of Tirupati. A part of the Sri Venkateshwara National Park, the waterfall is only accessible by foot and you’d have to walk about a kilometre to get there. Akasa Ganga The waterfall is about 5 km from the Sri Venkateshwara Temple and is considered sacred. Many a devotee go here to take a dip in the water.
