We are eagerly awaiting India\u2019s and humankind\u2019s victory over coronavirus, things coming back to normal and we getting to serving you again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:center\" class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Savaari Services Resume in<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>[ycd_countdown id=&#8221;5711&#8243;][\/ycd_countdown]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are the developments related to COVID, worldwide?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As eager global citizens, we are closely following the cures for coronavirus. While a vaccine is anywhere between <strong>12 to 18 months away<\/strong>, there are certainly some interesting developments in research and trials to find a cure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Masks:<\/strong> There is drastic shift in how usage of masks (even the DIY ones) can help fight Corona virus. For Europe and North America, no other country has demonstrated it better than Czech Republic. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/outlook\/2020\/03\/28\/masks-all-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\">Here<\/a> is an article that details why making masks mandatory everywhere makes a lot of sense. A <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC2190272\/\" target=\"_blank\">review of a variety of interventions<\/a>\u00a0 during SARS outbreak of 2003, found wearing a mask was actually more effective than even washing hands (more than 10 times daily) \u2014 at about 68 percent. Washing hands was at about 55% effective.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine:<\/strong> There is enough interest generated on this vaccine for the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloombergquint.com\/coronavirus-outbreak\/fewer-coronavirus-deaths-seen-in-countries-that-mandate-tb-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\">correlation that exists <\/a>between mandatory BCG vaccine and the low number of Corona virus cases in that country. There is <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/theprint.in\/science\/a-jnu-lab-is-working-on-a-revamped-bcg-vaccine-with-covid-19-protein-to-fight-pandemic\/395915\/\" target=\"_blank\">interesting work happening<\/a> in a JNU lab following this correlation led by Dr. Gobaddhan Das.<\/li><li><strong>Spread through surfaces OR not:<\/strong> The common wisdom and quite a few lab experiments show that Corona virus can spread through surfaces. Hence, it was surprising that Professor Hendreek Streeck while studying on causes in Hinesberg which is termed as \u201cGermany\u2019s Wuhan\u201d hasn\u2019t found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.in\/science\/news\/germanys-had-more-than-113000-coronavirus-cases-but-fewer-than-3000-deaths-scientists-are-hoping-to-unlock-why-\/articleshow\/75074478.cms\" target=\"_blank\">proof<\/a> of that. If nothing else for now, at least we can be less fearful on how touching surfaces can spread the virus.<\/li><li><strong>Plasma therapy: <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/outlook\/2020\/04\/07\/plasma-recovered-patients-could-help-treat-covid-19-until-we-find-vaccine\/\" target=\"_blank\">Initial outcomes<\/a> have been very promising. It has been <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/icmr.nic.in\/sites\/default\/files\/upload_documents\/HCQ_Recommendation_22March_final_MM.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">recommended as a prophylactic<\/a> by ICMR for health workers who are at the front line of this fierce battle.<\/li><li><strong>Fishing approach:<\/strong> Equally interesting is an <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/covid-19-treatment-might-already-exist-in-old-drugs-were-using-pieces-of-the-coronavirus-itself-to-find-them-133701\" target=\"_blank\">approach<\/a> to make human cells\u2019 protein impenetrable by coronavirus.
