Rajasthan is all set to host the Kumbhalgarh Festival from December 1-3 this year. The festival is celebrated in full swing for the last 6 centuries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized by the Department of Tourism of Rajasthan, Kumbalgarh Festival hosts some of the finest talents of the country. It showcases all the colors of Rajasthani culture through its dance performance and other activities. The competitions and programs carried out during the fest escalate the zeal and enthusiasm of the people and display what it was like in the bygone era of Mewar. A little bit about Kumbalgarh Fort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Built over a period of 15 years under the expert supervision of the famed architect Mandan, Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajasthan is perfectly perched between eleven peaks of the Aravalli ranges. Its strategic position atop a high ridge camouflaged by the surrounding peaks has made it one of the most important and probably the only impregnable fort of the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 3-day festival brings together the art and culture of other states as well as hosts competitions to bring out the zeal and enthusiasm of the visitors. Traditional artists are called from all parts of India to showcase their craftsmanship from jewelers to potters. Some of the country\u2019s famous artists also come to perform and entertain the crowds. In the end, the performers invite audiences to join and shake a leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In daylight hours, take a walk around the fort and witness its impressive turrets. The festival puts on display the finest of Rajasthan’s heritage gems: handicrafts, ethnic attires, handmade jewelry and a plethora of souvenirs. Besides shopping to your heart’s content, you can also get an insight into how these traditional articles are crafted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival also boasts several competitions, such as tug of war, turban-tying, musical chairs, which make for a fun watch. A particular highlight of the festival is the puppet show that invites a large number of spectators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
