Lungs of the city, Cubbon Park is a true haven for your furry friends. The clean air, ample space, grass and fresh morning air on a Sunday morning in Namma Bengaluru is the weekend we all need. The place is an abode for the youngsters and the young at heart to organize activities, exercise, or just spend time with the animal babies, yours or of the many dogs and their parents accompanying them. We woke up late and ended up skipping breakfast, and on top of that, we had two hungry and tired little dogs with us. With no idea where to go, we googled pet-friendly places in Bangalore and found Urban Solace. Much like the name, the place transports you to a quiet, peaceful little corner in the urban craziness of Bangalore. They even served the dogs in their own dog bowls.

The food situation was pretty good for the humans too. With a variety of continental and English options to choose from, Urban Solace is the perfect place for a pet-friendly date. The owner even hands out charming affirmation cards that just add a tinge of wholesome to the meal. What are you waiting for? Book your pet-friendly cab Savaari to enjoy a day of four-legged fun.

5. Cafe Buzzinga

I am in college, and recently, I came across this pet adoption page based in Bangalore they posted about this little puppy who was in urgent need of fostering. I couldn’t help myself and just had to step up. So, I messaged them and told them that I, a 19-year-old college student, living in a shared apartment with two other girls who all are in dire need of supervision, will take care of a puppy. The next evening, I went and got Billu home. The dog was the tiniest, cutest little menace. He peed all over the house, wouldn’t sleep the entire night and bit off a hole in my favourite blouse. The three musketeers had fallen down after an endless night of running around. By sunrise, I was made the villain for getting Billu home because now people were hungry, cranky and lazy. 

I only had one option, I took everyone for a lazy breakfast at Cafe Buzzinga. How? By booking a chauffeured cab there because there was no way, I was asking any of them to drive me to the cafe. The homely place was perfect as it allowed dogs and even had some pet-friendly options on the menu that Billu certainly seemed to enjoy. I know because he slept for the next entire week and only woke up for more food. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area which is perfect for your dog to relax in. The American breakfast is the must-try classic in their very elaborate breakfast menu. We ate, and I was forgiven, and so was Billu. We became a family over that meal. In the list of pet-friendly places in Bangalore, Cafe Buzzinga get a saved spot for saving my life that morning.

6. Camp Monk Bannerghatta 

I was always very scared of dogs and never thought of having one of my own. But last year, my father asked me for a favour that I just could not say no to. He told me that he and mum were getting very old and were not able to take care of their dog, Flash, and needed me to step in. I did say yes, but I had no clue what to do with it. Flash was an older dog and did not like loud noises or closed spaces, which meant all the doggie cafes were not an option. Then I found out about Camp Monk Bannerghatta. It is a camping park where you can bring your own camping experience with you and sleep under the stars and in the wilderness inside Bangalore! The expreience is so different than the usual pet- friendly places in Bangalore.

The next issue at hand was how to take Flash with me. I didn’t have a car, it is impossible finding an auto driver who would be willing to take a dog in their vehicle. Savaari became my saviour. I simply booked a pet-friendly cab with Savaari, and the driver picked us up from my house and took us to the camp. It was a beautiful experience. The campfire, people, songs, lake and just green everywhere. Flash even found a friendly goat!

• Visit the Bannaerghatta National Park – The Bannerghatta National Park is just a 5-minute drive away from the campsite. Although dogs are not allowed in the Park premises, you can always leave your pet in the care of your trustable Savaari driver and the campsite staff while you visit the Park. 

7. Snoopy Paws Cafe

I have two dogs, and we have a ritual of Sunday dates. Where I take them out for a Doggie’s Day Out, and we spend the entire day doing all their favourite things. We often book a pet-friendly cab from Savaari Car Rentals for our dates because booking cabs and crossing our fingers that the driver allows the dogs in isn’t really an option in Bangalore. Last week we discovered one of the most heartwarming pet-friendly places in Bangalore. Snoopy Paws Cafe in Yehalanka is a spacious cafe that is always lit up with joy because of its in-house dogs.

 They have a gang of rescue dogs that wag their tails and go around looking for pets from anyone who would want to. I took my dogs and was a little scared because my dogs are really tiny, but the friendly little creatures made everything so easy for my dogs too. The food here is also super delicious. So, if you don’t have a dog but love having one around and are looking for some dependably amazing food, head to Snoopy Paws Cafe and enjoy a day of wags and licks.

Ella’s Petscape has an open, grassy area for you to run around with your pet. Then your tiny pooches can cool off in the swimming pool they have for the animals. They even have a grooming centre and spa in case you want to pamper your pet a little bit and a shop with all kinds of accessories and treats for your little spoilt fur baby. 

So much for them, but what will you do while your pets are enjoying themselves? They have a cosy little cafe for the humans where you can grab some snacks or coffee. You can carry a book and catch up on some reading or maybe just be real with yourself and accept that you will be spending the entire time just clicking your pet from every possible angle while they enjoy their day of fun.

I am a hardcore foodie, and my dog has taken after me. Sometimes I feel so guilty about enjoying all kinds of gourmet cuisine while my dogs have to eat the same old food all the time. I was discussing this with a friend when she recommended the Pet People Cafe to me. We both didn’t have cars here, but really wanted to go on a double date with our dogs. That is when we found Savaari. Not only was the cab pet-friendly, but we were able to customise our itinerary in such a way that a single booking picked both of us up, took us to the cafe and dropped us back home. All without the hassle of booking multiple rides and breaking our heads over wait- time and cancellations. 

Their menu is carefully crafted by renowned Master Chef Abhijit Saha, known for his expertise and experience on the show ‘Master Chef.’ With a focus on plant-forward, guilt-free, cruelty-free, and vegan-friendly options, their authentic New York-based menu offers a diverse range of F&B choices. In addition to our delectable dishes for humans, they also have a special selection for your furry friends. Treat your dogs to their delightful Macanna salmon pupcake, indulge them with the refreshing Blueberry Ambrosia, or savour the Artisan Egg pupcake specially crafted for their enjoyment.

The homestay is run by a fun couple who like cooking, hosting, music and animals. They have six dogs and pet birds like turkeys and geese, and they welcome your pets too! 

They even set up bonfires and barbeques if you request them in advance. It is truly an opportunity for personality development for your pet as they get to mingle with wildlife in a very healthy environment. Although the signal here is not very dependable, coming back might be a problem if you don’t have your car. Unless you book a Savaari roundtrip that will be present for all your needs, with or without a network.

It is a 3-hour trek with moderate difficulty, which means enough challenge for you and your furry friend. One of the things that make this trek worth it, are the caves that come along the way for you to explore. It is like a maze of huge rocks that define your every step. 

There is nothing in the world that makes bonding easier than pain. The Antargange Trek created a bond between Theo and me that realised itself only once we reached the summit. Theo’s loud pant was only as loud as mine, and with the excitement of finishing our first trek together, we knew it wasn’t going to be our last. By the time we reached back down, my legs were shaking of making up for years worth of missed exercise, and all I could think about was how smart I was for booking a Savaari otherwise, we would have had to find a place to spend the night.

13. VAMA Reatreat, Nandi Hills

Let me tell you about the time I took Simba to VAMA retreat in Nandi Hills. We hopped into the car, me and my doggo, ready to explore some nature and have a blast. As soon as we reached VAMA retreats, I could feel the stress melting away. The place was surrounded by lush greenery, with stunning views of the hills. We stayed in this cosy cottage with a fireplace that my dog instantly claimed as his throne. He thought he was the king of the retreat, and honestly, I couldn’t argue with him.

During the day, we went on epic hikes, exploring the trails and breathing in the fresh mountain air. Simba was on cloud nine, sniffing every tree and bush like it was the most exciting thing ever. He even made some new furry friends along the way. One time, we encountered a mischievous squirrel who tried to play hide-and-seek with my dog. It was like watching a comedy show unfold right before my eyes! At night, we gathered around the bonfire with other guests and shared stories. Simba became the centre of attention, showing off his tricks like a true showman. VAMA retreats had so much to offer. We pampered ourselves with delicious food, took dips in the swimming pool, and even tried some yoga sessions to stretch our limbs. It was a beautiful time spent.

Mike instantly became the centre of attention, with people flocking to pet him and shower him with love.

We settled down at a colourful table on the outdoor patio, where my dog got his own bowl of water like the true VIP he is. We indulged in some lip-smacking food, and I couldn’t resist sharing a bite or two with my four-legged partner in crime. The atmosphere was electric, with live music filling the air, and my dog couldn’t help but wag his tail to the rhythm. We had a doggone good time, making new friends, dancing, and savouring the unique experience that is Rasta Cafe on Church Street.

Till now, pets weren’t allowed in most Lake parks in Bangalore. But recently, the BBMP has come out with regulations that will allow the residents of Bangalore to take their pets to Lakes for walks and picnics. You can read about the new regulations at this link. Both me and Doi (my dog) were very excited to try out our walks at Madiwala Lake. We ventured into this serene oasis, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of water. Doi couldn’t contain his excitement as he sniffed the fresh air and gazed at the shimmering lake. We took a leisurely stroll along the tranquil pathways, watching ducks glide gracefully on the water and butterflies fluttering about and even went for a boat ride! 

We found a cosy spot to sit and bask in the serenity of nature, feeling a million miles away from the city’s chaos. Madiwala Lake was the pawfect retreat for both of us, where we could unwind, connect with nature, and create cherished memories together.
